Why do we focus on farmed animals? In Australia, in 2016 alone over 689 million animals were confined and killed for food.   Regarded as little more than commodities or products, they are not protected under the same legislation as our pets are, despite being able to suffer just as greatly. Please help Little Oak Sanctuary raise urgently needed funds to continue our work offering sanctuary to animals in need and educating the public about the impact that animal agriculture has on the environment their health, and the animals.

Why are we collecting funds?

Little Oak Sanctuary is a not for profit organisation that provides sanctuary to abused, neglected or abandoned farmed animals.  Currently home to over 150 farmed animals who have come to us from situations of neglect abuse and abandonment, the cost of caring for these residents is ongoing.  We share the stories of these individual animals in order to share the plight of animals with the Australian community through the production of publications and sanctuary visits.  We are dedicated to empowering the public to make decisions that align with their own values of compassion and non violence. Our mission is to inform people so that they can become the change they want to see in the world.

Why we are needed  

• Farmed animals are the most exploited and abused animals in the world, yet most people are unaware of their plight
• Animal agriculture is a leading cause of environmental damage and a driving force in climate change
• In 2016 over 689 million animals were confined and killed for food, without advocates speaking on their behalf this figure will only increase as human populations increase

Little Oak Sanctuary receives no government funding and all positions are unpaid.
