Why are we collecting funds?
Little Legs Dog & Cat Rescue Qld Inc. is a not for profit organisation that is dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of dogs and cats throughout South East Queensland. We are dedicated to raising awareness, preventing animals from being euthanaised and rehabilitating animals so they can be rehomed. Our team are all volunteers and we receive no funding for our rescue.
Why we are needed
- Many animals that are put to sleep for minor reasons such as having the flu or being too scared for a vet consultation.
- Foster homes provide a calm, nurturing environment for animals to be rehabilitated and readied to be adopted. This is something that larger pounds or shelters are unable to provide; yet LLSQLD can.
- Over 25,000 cats and dogs are euthanaised by RSPCA each year (RSPCA Report 2014-2015)
- 37% of animals are euthanaised in AWLQ pounds and shelters (AWL Qld Statistics Report 2011/2012)
What we do to help
Little Legs Dog & Cat Rescue Qld Inc is committed to:
- Reducing the number of animals who die alone in shelters and pounds

- Hold public events to create awareness of our cause and help dogs and cats find their forever families
