There is a vibrant and active network of community volunteers in the Tarwin catchment and the interest in catchment stewardship in the community is high. The South Gippsland Landcare Network is a diverse group made up of primary producers, hobby farmers, tree changers, backyard gardeners and environmentalists. Twelve of the 15 locality-based Landcare groups fall within the Tarwin Catchment.
We love the Tarwin aims to work with all stakeholders in the catchment in a range of areas including onground works, citizen science, education and awareness, riparian pest and weed control and supporting landholders and capacity building.
The Tarwin River catchment has a total catchment of approximately 250,000 ha and is bordered by the Strzelecki Ranges in the north and Bass Strait in the South. The Tarwin River is one of two major river systems in the catchment. The Tarwin River comprises two primary branches, the East Branch and the West Branch, as well as receiving flow from its main tributaries: Coalition, Wilkur, Berrys and Fish Creeks. The Tarwin River discharges into Anderson Inlet.

We are proud to acknowledge and support participation of Traditional Owners of the land on which we live and work, specifically the clans of Gunaikurnai and Bunurong. We honour and respect their ongoing cultural and spiritual connection to this country and pay our respects to Elders of the past, present and future.
