Macquarie Home Stay (MHS) has been a home away from home for thousands of patients and their families from throughout Regional, Western and Far Western NSW who’ve been attending medical appointments or having medical treatment over the six years MHS has been in operation.
Some of those people stay for a day, some for many weeks. Some are mothers eagerly awaiting the safe arrival of their baby but need to stay close to medical assistance for their health related safety. Some are supporting a patient in hospital, while others are undergoing cancer treatment at Dubbo’s Western Cancer Centre and more.
MHS is looking forward to a bright future in offering more affordable facilities at their site in Dubbo with the Stage 3 family units and children's playground to add additional opportunities in accommodating guests, particularly those with families. These units will mean the whole family can stay together in comfort and know that the children will be occupied in a friendly environment within the new playground area adjacent to the Stage 3 family units.
The new "HELP US Build Your Home Away from Home @MHS Campaign" has been established to gather our co contribution to build Stage 3. It’s a huge undertaking, but we have some amazing creative plans in place. One of those is to simply take the hat around at work but the catch is, ask the BOSS to double the donations raised by their work colleagues. It’s a fun way to help MHS and we’d truly like as many businesses in our local health district to get involved. Or you can simply donate yourself.
