Mature Artists Dance Experience (MADE) is a revolutionary arts organisation, a pioneer, an Australian leader creating spectacular work for audiences by building pathways between the mature non-professional dancer and the professional artist to create engaging, quality dance productions for global audiences in non-traditional performance spaces. MADE is based at Kickstart Arts in Tasmania and we offer weekly dance classes at SOHO Living Arts Centre in South Hobart,  and in New Town at Hobart City High School. Each year we also develop and present at least one new original performance work for community participants aged 50 or over.

We are a celebration of movement, artform and wisdom.

Founded in 2005 with 19 years of success, including national and international touring, our vision is to:

·       lead the dance with quality original performance

·       connect people through participation

·       ambitiously drive a global agenda

·       redefine the mature body onstage.

Since inception, MADE has presented 19 unique full-length works presented at many locations in Tasmania, Australia and overseas including: Brisbane Festival, Junction Arts, Canberra’s You Are Here and BOLD Festivals, DARK MOFO, Mona Foma and Salamanca Moves. In 2018, MADE's commissioned production of The Frock by Graeme Murphy, played as part of "Australia Now" a curated showcase of Australian innovation, lifestyle and creativity presented by the Australian Government at the World GOLD Arts Festival, Saitama, Japan. 

Choreographers, dance-theatre makers and artists from around Australia and overseas seek to make work with us. These include choreographers Graeme Murphy, Liz Aggiss, Kelly Drummond Cawthon, Emma Porteus, Stephanie Burridge, Liesel Zink and other creative artists - Christopher Gordon (composer), Judith Wright (visual artist), Michael Fortescue (musician) and Joe Murray (UK Lighting Designer).
