Every year, the Public Education Foundation receives applications from remarkable public school students across Australia.

They are hardworking. Determined. Capable.

Our generous donors support specific named scholarships, and those funds are allocated exactly as intended. Yet each year, there are outstanding students who meet the criteria, demonstrate exceptional potential, and still miss out simply because the funding pool has been exhausted.

The Making a Difference Scholarship Fund has been created to support these students.

This fund will provide practical assistance such as laptops, learning resources, technology, and financial support to help students continue their education without unnecessary barriers.

One recent applicant works evenings delivering Uber orders by bike to support his family. He wakes at 3:00am to use the only shared laptop in a household of six so he can complete his schoolwork before his siblings need it.

These are not stories of disadvantage alone — they are stories of resilience and potential.
