IEMs include PKU, all Amino Acid Disorders, Urea Cycle Disorders and Organic Acidaemias.

The MDDA supports individuals and their families throughout each major life stage. From the newly diagnosed, adolescence into adulthood, to maternal women from preconception, birth and beyond.   

Projects MDDA supports that we wish to allocate money to this year include:

  • Mentoring program
  • Research including John Christodoulou projects, research into long term health issues, aging and the brain, lifestyle and compliance issues.
  • Educational videos from medical professionals
  • Retreats
  • Fundraising activities and events
  • Seeking grants and sponsorship
  • Improving the menu planning and recipe database to create user friendly, comprehensive resource for menu planning, recipe and products ideas.
  • Government lobbying for better resources for people with IEM's including clinic resources, access to medications etc.
