Australia’s health system provides quality, safe and affordable health care for all. However, to achieve this, our health system generates huge amounts of waste. Alarmingly, 30% of this waste includes unused medical supplies. In contrast, approximately half the world’s population has limited access to basic medical care and supplies.

Medical Pantry is a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation that redistributes surplus medical supplies to disadvantaged communities globally to reduce healthcare's environmental impact and improve access to quality healthcare globally. Our vision is to accelerate toward a zero environmental, equitable and sustainable health ecosystem.

We are a 100% volunteer-run organisation. Our major expense is warehouse leasing (85%), followed by transport (7%), insurance (4%) and utilities (3%). For every $1 invested, we are able to donate $350+ of medical supplies. 

Please consider regular monthly or annual donations. As regular income will make a huge difference to the ability to plan for growth. In particular, we can plan to

• Expand our warehousing footprint in Victoria to accommodate containers onsite.
• Install more efficient storage space with tall pallet shelving and forklifts.
• Engage more hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies to save more supplies.
• Expand the program to NSW.
