TALS Institute's Objects
Clause 4.1 of the TALS Institute Constitution sets out the charity's objects, namely:
4.1 The company’s object is to pursue the charitable purpose of protecting and enhancing the natural environment of Australia by:
a. Restoring Landscapes with the ‘Whole of Landscape’ restoration and management approaches that are supported by The Australian Landscape Science (‘TALS’), based on the Blueprint of the Australian Landscape,
b. Research: Studying and reporting on the science. Further investigating and reporting on the functions and unique efficiencies, evolved by the Australian landscape for millions of years. Extending and assessing current and new demonstration sites by comparison to the evidence already available in landscape example,
c. Advisory: Advising on the principles and certification of best practices. Actively supporting and monitoring quality across various certified NGO groups, Trainers and Facilitators by establishing an Advisory Board consisting of scientists and experienced implementers of landscape restoration projects.
d. Advocacy: Informing discussion and drafting submissions for policy and funding guidelines for Government Departments at all levels,
e. Education & Training: Teaching and training an army of practitioners, facilitators and trainers, creating a TALS curriculum that provides for education and training of various levels.
f. Projects & Employment: Activation - creating viable projects and generating employment opportunities. Rolling out ‘Whole of Landscape’ implementations nationwide, from individual titled properties to watershed management plans - in partnership with farmers, grassroots NGOs.
g. Scaling: Connecting - growing the network of TALS affiliates. Establishing wider coalitions and deeper relationships with people, projects and organisations around regions, states and the nation,
h. Exporting: Exporting the principles of TALS and best practice ‘Whole of Landscape’ restoration and management approach."
