We are fundraising to build a new home for Australia’s first inland lifesaving club.
The Mildura Life Saving Club was established in the 1960s as part of the Royal Australian Lifesaving Society & has been keeping Mildura’s favourite swimming spot safe ever since.
When the 2022–23 Murray River flood hit, our clubhouse went under and was left severely damaged and uninhabitable. That building was the heart of our club – the place where training, patrol and community water safety programs began and were implemented. We currently run our club out of two shipping containers with training occuring off site.
With your support, we can rebuild a safe, modern clubhouse and continue protecting our river community while nurturing the next generation of lifesavers.
Your support backs a club that makes a real difference: 167 active members, including 100 women, 79 Nippers under 13 learning vital water safety skills, and 29 volunteer patrol members who delivered 1,000 patrol hours last season. Our team carried out 7 rescues, took 5,502 preventative safety actions, trained 15 new lifesavers, and provides ongoing water safety education for the community. Your contribution will help restore this vital hub so our volunteers can continue their emergency service and lifesaving work for many years to come.
The Mildura Life Saving Club is situated on the Lands and waters of the First People of the Millewa-Mallee and Paakantji Nations. Our Club acknowledges and pays respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
