The Murray River Centre will be a national hub for healing, learning, and innovation in trauma and mental health. Based in Albury-Wodonga, the Centre will serve two key purposes: delivering accessible, high-quality care for the local community, and offering a residential training and rejuvenation program for the national mental health workforce.
Through clinical innovation in regional communities, we will develop and pilot new models of care tailored to underserved rural and regional Australians. These models will prioritise multi-disciplinary collaboration, cultural safety, and peer-led approaches to ensure care that truly meets community needs.
In parallel, the Centre will lead workforce development and training, co-designing a 50-bed residential facility that hosts 4–7 day programs for clinicians nationwide. Training modules will include clinician wellbeing and rejuvenation, Schwartz Rounds, peer workforce development, leadership across disciplines, digital best practices in telehealth, and creating culturally safe workplaces.
We are seeking $250,000 to complete building due diligence and feasibility studies, undertake community consultation, and prepare a proposal for matched Federal and State Government investment. Your support will help bring this vital vision to life, building hope, healing, and innovation in regional mental health.
