The Social Outfit is a fashion label with a difference!
We provide employment and training opportunities in the fashion industry to people from refugee and new migrant communities in clothing production, retail, design and marketing. We have created a social business model where people can build their skills in a supportive environment, whilst interacting with broader Sydney communities. Celebratory in design, we work together with industry and community collaborators, to produce ethical fashion products that reflect a hopeful Australian spirit.
This year we want to expand our Retail Training Program, and we need your support:
- $76 provides 1 hour of on-site specialised retail training induction for a young new migrant woman to begin her employment role at The Social Outfit
- $199 pays for a week's paid, part-time work experience for a young woman from the refugee community in her first paid job in Australia
- $4820 funds 6 months supported training with a qualified supervisor for a young woman to join and qualify through our Retail Training Program
We work to build individual and community capacity, strength and sense of identity to combat racism, fear and violence. Our programs build a sense of community and identity through creativity whilst also providing practical employment information, skills and opportunity.
