About this cause

Support new feature documentary, My Refugee Journey, and the associated impact and education project.

While the documentary and education resources are partially funded, further support is needed to deliver the full impact campaign and national education rollout.

WHAT DO WE NEED

Additional funding is required to ensure screenings reach the widest possible audiences and to embed the work as an engaging, change-making curriculum in schools.
Components of the budget that will achieve this are:
$20k - Create and record music soundtrack with Hazara refugee musicians
$20K - License news archive (war in Afghanistan and refugee policy, e.g. ’Stop The Boats’)
$15k - Create outreach materials, including a trailer for screenings
$40k - Impact Producer to coordinate outreach and national screenings

$10k - Filming with the refugee community in Greater Dandenong
$60k - Create bespoke classroom resources with Cool.org

Current partner for Education Resources - Scanlon Foundation $20k

My Refugee Journey is supported by Vic Screen, the Melbourne International Film Festival Premiere Fund, Shark Island Foundation and Scanlon Foundation.
