We are a small, non-profit, Indigenous owned and run organisation and have been operating since 2001. We work and live in over 24 communities, some of which are in the most remote areas of Australia. We have a passion for education and its' power to change the future.
What do we do?
We facilitate the delivery of a home based parent engagement program that supports parents to participate in their child's early literacy and numeracy learning. We do this by providing resources and training to family homes.
Our Objectives are to:
- assist parents to develop the skills and confidence needed to support their children's school based education
- assist parents to help their children with the school curriculum by enabling familiarity with "school literacy"
- raise expectations of parents about what they and their children can achieve
- raise awareness of the importance of early literacy and numeracy learning
- promote the idea that learning is fun
