Shout a 'Suspended Coffee' @ Espresso Train

Part of our philosophy at Nundah Co-op is to 'pay it forward' and contribute to those doing it tough in the local community.

One way we do this is by participating in the 'Suspended Coffee' movement where customers purchase a coffee and 'suspend it', until a person in need makes a request. We serve the coffee to the person with dignity and they know that another person has given it with kindness. We have have served hundreds of suspended coffees over the last two years and there is a particular demand in the time coming up to Christmas.

How to Support us:

Until the end of December we want to see how many Coffees we can 'suspend' on the wall at Nundah Co-op's Espresso Train. To support us, all you need to do is donate $4 for a coffee (or multiples of $4) and we will provide one free of charge to someone in need (commonly people who are experiencing homelessness, financial poverty or poor mental health). You can also buy a 'tucker ticket' for $10 which will donate one of our freshly cooked meals to someone who is in need of a good feed.

How will the funds be used:

  • Donations will provide coffees and meals for people in need who come in to our cafe, up to the dollar value of the donation.
  • Donations also support the creation of meaningful work opportunities for people with a disability who are members of our Co-op (so your gift gives twice).
  • 100% of your donation goes to the uses described above and nil is spend on financial fees or administration.
Please note we include your first name only on the suspended coffee voucher which we place on the side of our coffee machine, but if you would prefer to be entirely anonymous, please let us know.

Do I receive a receipt for my donation:

Yes immediately sent by email when approved. Donation to NCEC are tax deductible.
