The Glen – A Place of Healing and Empowerment
Established in 1994 by Ngaimpe Aboriginal Corporation, The Glen has stood as a powerful symbol of Koori resilience and the strength of the human spirit. For over three decades, it has provided a safe and supportive space for men—both Indigenous and non-Indigenous—from across New South Wales to begin their journey of recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
In 2022, The Glen proudly expanded its services to support women, continuing its commitment to inclusive, community-driven healing.
At The Glen, we believe in the power of transformation. Every person who walks through our doors carries a story, and many leave with a renewed sense of purpose and hope. The Glen was born from a deep need to address the pain and devastation caused by addiction in our communities—and that mission continues today.
Our approach is holistic. We treat the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—not just the addiction. We work to uncover and address the underlying causes of harmful behaviours, empowering individuals to take back control of their lives, reconnect with their families, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Grounded in Indigenous values and spirituality, our program focuses on personal responsibility and the impact of individual choices. It includes group therapy, one-on-one counselling, work programs, physical activity, and self-help meetings—creating a well-rounded path to healing and growth.
