The Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) Nillumbik Unit is generally made up of residents from the shire of Nillumbik and City of Banuyle. Our members are from all walks of life and are all unpaid volunteers giving their time to help protect and serve our communities in times of need 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide emergency rescue response for general rescue situations as well as major weather events including severe wind and rain storms causing building/infrastructure damage, road hazards, hail damage, riverine and flash floods. We also provide critical Road Crash Rescue response to assist Ambulance Victoria help save the lives of seriously trapped casualties involved in major motor vehicle collisions.
We also assist and support other Emergency Service Organisations including Victoria Police with seraching for missing persons and crime scene support, Country Fire Authority (CFA) and Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) with wildfire/bushfire/urban fire logistical and operational support and Ambulance Victoria with casualty handling and logistical support.
VICSES do not charge a call out fee or bill you for our services. As we are not fully funded by any one source we rely on donations from the community and businesses to continue to provide the professional service to our communities in times of need. Your generous donation will help support the Nillumbik SES Unit and our volunteers to maintain, service and upgrade our essential rescue equipment, support us with our day to day running costs and help us keep up with technology as it continues to advance providing challenges around every corner.
