NORPA (Northern Rivers Performing Arts) is one of the few remaining professional theatre companies creating new Australian works from regional Australia.
On February 28 2022 NORPA’s home, the Lismore City Hall, was inundated by flood waters. The destruction is extensive and covers the ground floor, including the NORPA offices, the Studio, kitchen, loading dock and green rooms, flood water also got into second floor and main theatre. After the flood our team and a crew of wonderful volunteers from near and far spent two weeks working tirelessly to clear Lismore City Hall of mud, damaged materials and debris.
We managed to save some of our equipment, sadly a lot of equipment and furniture was lost.
Over the past 30 years NORPA has developed Lismore City Hall to be our region’s major performing arts centre and cultural hub for our community, we’re devastated by the prospect of saying goodbye to another season of incredible theatre and performances.
Your support is essential to helping NORPA recover and rebuild.
