Founded in 1994, Northey Street City Farm in Windsor, Brisbane, has since created a vibrant green oasis in the heart of Brisbane. We believe that the dominant way of life is unsustainable but by practicing Permaculture we can create an environmentally, socially and economically just world. We have a vision of all living sustainably. Northey Street City Farm provides a venue for people from all walks of life to volunteer and to learn about permaculture.
Donations ensure that we continue to create an informative environment for the thousands of visitors to the Farm each year.
Our social enterprises cover our operating costs, but there are many environmental improvement projects we would like to fund if we could afford it. These include a nature play area, added informative signage, and planting more native bee and bird attracting plants.
We are also calling for donations to help cover the costs of scholarships for First Nations people to attend our Introduction to Permaculture and Permaculture Design Courses. Please email us on finance@nscf.org.au after you have made a donation if you want it to go towards funding a First Nations Scholarship.
How will the funds be used?
Funds raised for Northey Street City Farm Environment Fund are used to improve the environment through education and hands-on activities. Our education program inspires people of all ages to engage with nature while learning the skills to live sustainably in the city.
