About Not One More Niki

Not One More Niki is a movement to help end violence against women, named in honour of Nikita Chawla, a performing artist, dancer and choreographer, whose life was taken in January 2015. Countless others have lost their lives before and since.

Nikita would have turned 30 on 21 June 2021, but like all victims of men's violence, she won't be here to celebrate another birthday. The statistics are harrowing:

  • At least one woman a week is killed by a man she knows in Australia
  • One in three women experience abuse at the hands of an intimate partner
  • One in four women have experienced sexual abuse in Australia

Prevention and advocacy led by victim-survivors is an important part of solving this national emergency. We receive no government funding, so your support is invaluable and makes a real difference. Thank you.
