Northern Rivers Community Foundation

The Northern Rivers Community Foundation is an independent philanthropic foundation, providing a sustainable way to benefit the community of the Northern Rivers region.
How will the funds be used?

The Foundation gathers gifts from a wide range of donors. These gifts can either be:

1) For one of NRCF's many Sub Funds such as the General Giving Fund, where the donations are pooled to form a capital base which is invested. Income from the investments goes towards the annual Community Grants Program.*

2) For flow through into a specific funding initiative that has been selected by NRCF and the donor, such as the Back to School Program.

For those donations that are invested, the Foundation grows the capital base by investing with professional fund managers. Only the income from the investments is used to fund community projects. In this way, a donor's gift continues to benefit the community year after year.

The Foundation gives the income earned on investments back to the community through an annual grants program. This Grants program supports social, environmental and cultural needs in the NSW Northern Rivers region that seek to alleviate disadvantage in our region.

The Foundation ensures that grant funding is distributed effectively by drawing upon needs base information from credible community and government organisations.

*Please note: If you have selected to donate to the Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital Infrastructure Fund, then your donation will support this specific capital project and not be used for any other purpose.
