Northern Rivers Community Foundation

Support Northern Rivers Communities

Where will your money go?

Your donation will go to the Northern Rivers Community Foundation (NRCF) and your selected Sub Fund*.
*You can select you chosen subfund on the next page when you have selected your donation amount.
The NRCF is an independent philanthropic foundation, providing a sustainable way to benefit the community of the Northern Rivers region.

Over the past three years, the Northern Rivers region and its residents have lived through drought, fires, storms, floods and the pandemic before this current inundation.

NRCF has created a Resilience and Regeneration Fund to enable prompt and targeted responses to disasters while also focusing on building the community’s longer term resilience and disaster preparedness.

If you are donating to the NRCF Housing Fund, you will have the option to select this Sub Fund when completing your donation. Through this Fund, there are two avenues to give. You can support the immediate needs of our community (‘Impact Now’) and/or longer term housing solutions. Once your donation has been received, a member of the NRCF team will contact you to confirm how you would like the Funds to be applied. Further information on the NRCF Housing Fund can be found here

How will the funds be used?

The Foundation gathers gifts from a wide range of donors. These gifts can either be used for:

1) A specific grant program that has been selected by NRCF and the donor, such as the Back to School Program or SCU Bowen Scholarship Program.

2) NRCF's Annual Grant Program - Donations to Sub Funds or Campaigns are invested in social impact ethical investments. As the Foundation grows its capital base, only the income from the investments is used to fund community projects. In this way, a donor's gift continues to benefit the community year after year.

The Foundation gives the income earned on investments back to the community through an annual Grant Program. This program supports social, environmental and cultural projects in the NSW Northern Rivers region that seek to alleviate disadvantage in our region. Recently this program was extended to include projects that focus on disaster recovery and resilience.

The Foundation ensures that grant funding is distributed fairly and effectively by drawing upon needs base information from credible community and government organisations.

*Please note: If you have selected to donate to the NRCF Housing Fund, Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital Infrastructure Fund, or the Resilience & Regeneration Fund, then your donation will support this specific project & associated grants program, and not be used for any other purpose.
