The Northern Suburbs Community Legal Centre (NSCLC), first established in 1996, is a non-profit, multidisciplinary legal centre that provides high quality legal and advocacy services. Our service is provided primarily to people residing in the northern suburbs, with some programs offered across the metropolitan area. 

Our model of service is person-centred and holistic, with an integrated approach between our programs. There is no wrong door entry and individual legal needs are recognised as being in context of complex life issues that often require concurrent health, social and financial support. This is why our vision of leading in community social justice has allowed NSCLC to make such an impact to date.

The NSCLC employs lawyers, nurse advocates, tenancy advocates, social work staff, financial counsellors, client service officers as well as a valuable contingent of volunteers. 

In our near 25 years of operation we have:

• Provided over 125,000 advice sessions
• Of which 47.2% contained or concerned advice regarding family and domestic violence
• We provided thse session to over 42,500+ individual clients.
• Of these clients, 83.2% were classified as low/no income
• and 20.1% identifed as having a disability

As our costs increase, and funding streams stagnate, we are having to turn away more people in our community who need our help.
