One Girl

We believe every girl on the planet has the right to an education - and an educated girl can change the world! Project Drawdown ranks educating girls as their number six solution for tackling climate change. When combined with knowledge about reproductive health and family planning, it jumps all the way up to the top solution.

We work in Sierra Leone and Uganda - some of the most difficult places on earth to be a young woman. A girl born in Sierra Leone is more likely to be a child bride than she is to attend high school. However, with your support, we have the power to change that!

What does your donation support?

  • $20 is enough to supply a girl with two reusable pad kits which will last for three whole years
  • $50 is enough to provide a One Girl Scholar with a solar light to help her do her homework after school
  • $100 is enough for a girl to receive vocational and life skills training for six months
  • $300 is enough to give a girl access to education for an entire year
