Outback Instincts Ltd is an ACNC-registered charity supporting at-risk, disengaged and vulnerable young people across the Toowoomba, Darling Downs and Western Downs regions. We deliver animal-assisted, land-based and rural skill-building programs that reconnect young people to community, purpose and themselves.
Using our signature approach — Tools, Trust & Transformation — we give young people real tools, real skills and real mentors. Out here, we know that idle hands and idle minds can quickly become the devil’s playground, so we create safe, structured and meaningful pathways that keep young people busy, connected and building their future.
Our flagship programs include:
🐮 Youth in the Yards — cattle handling, stock work, teamwork, responsibility, show preparation and rural life skills.
🐴 Equine Elevate — horsemanship, emotional regulation, confidence-building and relationship skills through work with horses.
🐕 Paws on the Ground — therapy dog visits to aged-care homes, teaching empathy, communication, leadership and community service.
🌱 The Paddock Project — hands-on literacy, numeracy and problem-solving through gardening, animal care, farm tasks and real-world activities.
🔥 Paddocks to Purpose (2026) — our newest program transforming farm scrap, metal and timber into art through welding, grinding, woodwork and creativity, led by skilled tradespeople and our own creative team.
Across all programs, young people learn practical rural trades, animal care, teamwork, emotional regulation and community connection — skills that help them step out of chaotic environments and into purpose, routine and hope.
When businesses sponsor Outback Instincts, they’re not just funding sessions — they’re helping change the trajectory of young lives, strengthen families, reduce disengagement and improve community safety across regional Queensland.
Community Transformation Partner - $25,000 for 12 months enables SIX young people to attend our programs once weekly for 12 months PLUS enables our 1:1 mentoring for each of these young people.
Big-picture support that funds program expansion, youth sponsorships, animal care, infrastructure (fencing, yards, equipment), trade workshops, and more.
Includes:
✔ Major branding across events
✔ Sponsor signage onsite
✔ VIP visits and engagement days
✔ Annual impact report
