About this cause

Are you ready to support better aid for rural Myanmar?

Palms works with local partners to support their own development initiatives. In Myanmar, we work to mentor staff of local livelihood programs and St Albert's middle school in Myeik. Two professional development mentors will spend two years developing project management and coordination skills of local staff.

$48 will give one day of professional skill development.

Why is this different?

This collaborative project between the different community initiatives offers a locally driven, comprehensive strategy to escape the cycle of poverty. The scope of the project can combat the chain-link challenges of rural development: business owners do not have the skills to create a stable cash flow and therefore cannot support school leavers who face unemployment, meanwhile, school students aren’t learning the skills to run sustainable businesses.

This long-term, locally driven professional skill development is part of our commitment to better aid in remote areas of Africa, Asia, and the Pacific.
