Perth City Farm is an urban farm and community hub in the heart of East Perth. We harness the power of nature and community connection to help people learn how to live more sustainably.

We receive no ongoing government funding. Every donation and every event we host helps keep this green oasis open and thriving for everyone.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible in Australia and support the work of Perth City Farm Inc.

VISION + IMPACT

Our vision is to support the Perth community to live sustainable and connected lives in harmony with nature.

We aim to contribute to the enduring wellbeing of all life on the planet (human, plant and animal) by:

• providing a welcoming oasis in a busy city that allows visitors to pause and reconnect with themselves, others, nature and spirit.
• modelling sustainable living practices so our visitors can learn and implement kinder ways to live.
• educating children and adults with practical and hope-filled solutions.
• hosting community groups and other groups who are also working for a kinder world.
• offering a community recycling hub to divert recyclable items from landfill.

In 2024 alone we welcomed 42,322 visitors, ran 285 community events, delivered 102 education programs, composted 29,252 kilos of food waste and recycled 618,584 items.

HISTORY

Perth City Farm began in 1994 on a toxic, degraded industrial site. Over three decades, volunteers and supporters have transformed it into a thriving permaculture inspired garden and community space.

We exist today because thousands of people have given their time, money and care so that Perth can have a place like this. When you donate, you become part of that story.

YOUR SUPPORT

We rely on community support to:

• Keep our gardens healthy, productive and open to the public
• Welcome school groups, families and adults to hands-on sustainability education
• Provide a safe, welcoming place for volunteers and community groups
• Care for our animals and increase habitat for local wildlife

Some of our priority projects for 2025 include:

• Adding a mural in memory of Thom Scott, a much loved volunteer who passed away in 2023
• Continuing our children's programs including Nature Playgroup, Grandma Rosie's Storytime and the Children's Tree Planting Festival
• Restocking and improving our chook pen so it is safer and more engaging for visitors
• Expanding native plantings around our perimeter to provide more food and shelter for birds and other wildlife
