Our vision is to support the Perth community to live sustainable and connected lives in harmony with nature.

We aim to contribute to the enduring wellbeing of all life on the planet (human, plant and animal) by:

• providing a welcoming oasis in a busy city that allows visitors to pause and reconnect with themselves, others, nature and spirit.
• modelling sustainable living practices so our visitors can learn and implement kinder ways to live.
• educating children and adults with practical and hope-filled solutions.
• hosting community groups and other groups who are also working for a kinder world.
• offering a community recycling hub to divert recyclable items from landfill.

In 2024 alone we welcomed 42,322 visitors, ran 285 community events, delivered 102 education programs, composted 29,252 kilos of food waste and recycled 618,584 items.

HISTORY

Perth City Farm came to life in 1994 on what was then a degraded industrial site. Toxic and lifeless soil has now been transformed into a productive community garden and green oasis based on permaculture principles.

We exist today because of a diverse community of volunteers and supporters who have poured time, love and energy into the site over the decades.

• Adding a mural as a memorial to Thom Scott, a key volunteer who passed away in 2023
• Continuing our children's programs including Nature Playgroup, Grandma Rosie's Storytime and the Children's Tree Planting Festival
• Restocking and enhancing our chook pen
• Enhancing native plantings around our perimeter to provide more wildlife habitat
