Portland Citizens Brass Band has been part of the soundtrack of Portland for more than 165 years. From ANZAC Day and community festivals to Christmas celebrations, school activities and aged care visits, the band brings people of all ages together through music.
Now, this historic band needs the community’s help.
The band’s home is a former bond store built in 1840, which has served as its rehearsal hall since 1931. Its ageing roof is deteriorating and vulnerable to leaks, placing the building, instruments, uniforms, equipment and decades of local history at risk.
Through its dedicated training band, affordable membership and access to shared instruments, the band also gives young people opportunities to learn music, build confidence and form lasting connections.
Your donation to the A Sound Investment project will help replace the roof, protect this valued community asset and ensure the hall remains a safe, weatherproof home for local music.
By supporting Portland Citizens Brass Band through SharkPitch 2026, you will help keep the music playing for generations to come.
