Becoming a young parent brings with it a number of challenges. Many of our clients are also juggling parenting with difficult circumstances such as abusive or unsupportive families, domestic violence and homelessness. By providing young parents and their infants with a safe home and support, Youth Futures aims to help young families to address these issues and break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage.
To ensure that young parents are able to maintain custody of their child we are seeking funds to develop packages on parenting and life skills which will equip them with the confidence to live independently, care for their child and plan for the future. For 10 years we have been successfully supporting young parents who have nowhere else to go.
Your generous donation will be used to deliver:
Parenting skills such as breast feeding, the importance of tummy time, play interaction and introducing solids.
Life skills such as budgeting, setting goals, cooking, cleaning, laundry and home maintenance.
Playgroups and activities where young mothers can form social support networks for the future
Providing intensive support to disadvantage young parents
Contributing to the cost of training courses/education
