School formals SHOULD be a rite of passage for everyone. But too many queer teens miss out – because they can't bring their date, or dress in a way that affirms them, or they're simply not safe to attend.
This Pride month, we're fundraising to keep this free, AND, take our event to a new city in 2027 - and we're 70% of the way to our target! 🌈
Queer Formal exists to allow LGBTQIA+ young people to have that night of fun, friends, dancing, and celebration. It's MAGICAL. And it's life-changing. That's why we're fundraising to take Queer Formal to a new location in 2027.
In fact, just $50 sends an LGBTQIA+ teen to the life-affirming Queer Formal for free - less than a night out at the movies to provide a life changing experience.
And what do our attendees say?
"It was my first time coming to an event like this… I was scared there were going to be hateful people and I’d be the odd one out. But as soon as I arrived I felt welcomed — the compliments on my hair and outfit were genuinely euphoric. My favourite parts were whenever the drags came up on stage. It was so amazing to see people being their most authentic selves, and for once I felt like I could too…”

Our office is on the land of the Yalukut Weelam Clan of the Boon Wurrung peoples, Australia’s First People and Traditional Custodians. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
