From the extraordinary through the slightly quirky right up to the downright eccentric, Edge is 'Radio Less Ordinary'. For 22 years we have been providing media training, local content, work experience, and providing a platform for unique Tasmanian stories, voices and music. 

Edge Radio is an independent, non-profit community youth radio station in nipaluna/Hobart that provides an alternative voice for lutruwita/Tasmania and beyond through innovative music and talk programming. Edge Radio is a platform for local news and issues, with a strong focus on the arts, culture, social justice, health, politics and the environment. Edge Radio champions Tasmanian music and supports musical diversity through music programs and events.

This year, we’re aiming to raise $22,222 to support our mission and the community we serve.

As a community station, Edge Radio runs and sounds different to a standard
commercial station. We’re powered and funded by people, not government and

The music playlists you hear on Edge Radio are lovingly curated by humans, not
algorithms! And our music programs are eclectic and extensive. By donating to
Edge, you’re showing vital support for local artists.

Your donations will help keep Edge Radio on air for another year and ensure the
ongoing operation of the station; allowing us to continue bringing you a radio less
ordinary!

Donations will also go towards additional broadcast and podcast training
opportunities in 2025/2026. Our volunteers learn a range of skills from media to
business, production and broadcast. Donations will ensure that Edge can continue
to provide invaluable career development opportunities through a diverse range
of volunteer work.
