Recent poaching has removed critical nesting sites, leaving species like sugar gliders and other species without safe places to shelter and breed. In our park - where natural hollows don’t yet exist - these animals rely on nest boxes to survive. We monitor these boxes weekly and have seen a major drop in numbers of sugar gliders, indicating they have either been taken or displaced.
You can help rebuild what was lost.
Your donation supports the repair, rebuilding, and installation of nest boxes ahead of the upcoming breeding season.
Your Impact
$30 → supports materials and maintenance
$50 → helps rebuild a nest box (one home for wildlife)
$100 → funds a full nest box
$150+ → supports multiple homes and habitat restoration
Each tier represents the impact your donation helps make. All funds go toward the ongoing protection, restoration, and care of the creek and its biodiversity.
Why now?
Breeding season begins at the end of July.
Nest boxes must be installed and settled in the environment before then - so wildlife can safely return and raise their young.
Without immediate action, many species risk missing this critical window.
Your donation is practical, immediate, and tangible (and not to mention tax deductable)

The Darebin Creek Management Committee acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung as the Traditional Custodians of the Darebin Creek, its land and tributaries. The knowledge of the Wurundjeri has protected the Darebin Creek for tens of thousands of years. We pay tribute to elders, past present and emerging and extend this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. If you care and respect Darebin Creek Country it will care for you.
