Regenerate Org is dedicated to supporting families rebuilding their lives after experiencing homelessness due to family violence. Since 2022, we’ve had the privilege of helping 230 families settle into safe, permanent homes, fully furnished with the essentials they need to start afresh.
Looking ahead to 2026, we are proud to be philanthropically funded to provide 60 families with quality furnishings and appliances for next year, but demand far exceeds what Regenerate alone can provide and there are still many more families waiting — families who have secured housing but are sleeping on floors, eating without tables, or living in empty spaces because they simply don’t have the essentials to make a house a home.
We all understand that homelessness due to family violence is at crisis point in our community and far exceeds the demands that Regenerate alone can support. The depth of this need is striking. In 2022‑23, approximately 104,000 clients of specialist homelessness services in Australia had experienced family and domestic violence — accounting for some 38% of all clients in that year. In 2023‑24 the number was around 109,000 — or 39% of all clients of homelessness services. Even more, women and children make up nine in ten of those clients. These statistics underscore the scale of the challenge we’re stepping into.
These alarming statistics have driven us to think more broadly and seek out additional ways that we can continue to provide support. That is where you, our community of supporters is needed - in 2026 we are launching a special, fully donation driven stretch campaign, where we are aiming to gather donations to furnish an extra 10 more homes for families. This is in addition to the 60 families that Regenerate have already committed to creating homes for.
