About this cause

During the summer of 2019/20, the nation stopped as RFS volunteers fought to protect their communities in the midst of one of the most catastrophic fire seasons ever. As they did, the community rallied to support them.

While for so many those fires are now just a memory, RFS volunteers have continued to do what they always do – go out to protect their communities.

Every fire season, we're there for volunteers providing:

  • Clean t-shirts, and care packs after long hours fighting fires
  • Additional refreshments and coffee vans at staging locations
  • Hygiene packs for tanker crews
  • Chaplaincy and welfare support for those who’ve been injured or lost homes, farms and livestock.

But the work of RFS volunteers doesn't stop at the end of the fire season. All year round our volunteers are helping their communities, from hazard reduction burns and supporting flood operations, to responding to motor vehicle accidents. Our firefighters volunteer their time, and risk their safety, to protect the community. Which is why we’re asking for your support, so we can be there when they need it most, supporting their physical and mental wellbeing.

Any donation, no matter how small, helps us assist these ordinary Australians who do extraordinary things for their communities.
