Most of us cannot imagine what a family faces when their child has been diagnosed with a serious illness or involved in a serious accident. Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW provides a 'Home away from Home' to families with children receiving treatment for serious and life threatening conditions and babies born prematurely who require specialised care.
Our goal is to enable families to stay together, close to their child, by providing them accommodation and support.
For local families who may not need accommodation, having a child in hospital whether overnight or on a longer term basis, also means long hours in the ward. The Ronald McDonald Family Room is your place to go when you need a break. It provides home like facilities that make your time in the hospital that little bit easier. Whether it is a hot shower and breakfast, or comfortable lounge and play area for the other family members, it is the haven you need whilst still being close to your sick child.
