Rural Pride Australia educates, challenges, enables and inspires so that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, Intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) people thrive in everyday regional, rural and remote communities.  It does this by:

• Gathering the best ideas, people and resources in challenging rural homophobia and transphobia, and supporting LGBTIQ people; in doing so, Rural Pride Australia maps what's working, what's not and identifies gaps;
• Working with, and building upon, successful, effective projects and organisations in regional, rural and remote Australian communities;
• Partnering with mainstream and philanthropic organisations to leverage their resources for regional, rural and remote Australia.

We challenge rural homophobia and transphobia one town, one story and one cuppa at a time.

Since 2016, Rural Pride Australia has partnered the Victorian Commisioner for LGBTIQ+ Communities and the Victorian State Government to work across 29 regional and rural communities, delivering:

• The LGBTIQ Equality Roadshow (www.engage.vic.gov.au/lgbtiq);
• A statewide Community of Regional and Rural LGBTIQ Practice;
• 10 x local regional Communities of LGBTIQ Practice;
• The 'FabJab' (vaccination) and 'FabRAT' (RAT distribution) campaigns to 17 communities; and, 
• the Rainbow Ready Roadmap (https://www.vic.gov.au/rainbow-ready-roadmap).

Communities we have worked with include: Mt Isa (QLD), Bunbury (WA), Shepparton (VIC) and northern Tasmania.
