Sanjiwani Public Health Mission Nepal (SPHMN) provides free health care to a community of 5000 people living in poverty in Nepal.
Delivering health services is not easy. Delivering and sustaining a health service in a country that is below the poverty line as well as being mountainous, having poor infrastructure and in a remote rural area brings additional challenges, beyond any that we face in Western countries.
We are therefore proud of what we have achieved so far, but need help to continue so we can still offer this medical service to a very grateful community.
SPHMN is a registered not-for-profit, non-government organisation entirely funded through sponsorship and donation with at least 0.95c in every $1.00 raised used to support the clinic. We have offered this service since 2007.
Our challenge is to keep providing this service in the face of new financial challenges.
Sanjiwani Australia Inc is an organisation incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act, 1981. (Registration No. A0056564L).
A voluntary committee governs and administers Sanjiwani Australia Inc and ensures that funds raised are distributed promptly to SPHMN in Nepal. The members of this committee are not remunerated. Most have spent time at the Health Mission in Nepal.
