The Satellite Foundation aims to provide opportunities to enhance the health, wellbeing and community connectedness of children, young people and their families where a parent has a mental illness.

We will do this by:

• Working in partnership with families, children, young people, services and the community.
• Developing and supporting a robust, dynamic and committed workforce of staff including volunteers.
• Recognizing that every family is unique and different.
• Taking a non-blaming approach to mental illness/ill-health.
• Taking the view that families and individuals can reach their own solutions to challenges if given the right environment.
• Embracing peer support as a powerful tool in assisting young people and their families.
• Celebrating achievements however small they may seem.
• Connecting with children and young people as a part of their family system.
• Respecting cultural, spiritual and individual difference.
• Evaluating and reflecting on our work and our outcomes to ensure they are in line with our values and vision.
