About this cause

Scarlet Alliance, Australian Sex Workers Association, is the national peak body for sex workers and sex worker organisations in unceded Australia. We have member organisations who share our vision and purpose located in each state and territory across Australia. Scarlet Alliance is the national representative voice on all issues impacting sex workers in so-called Australia.

Through our objectives, policies, and programs, we work to advance sex worker rights through equality and social, legal, political, cultural, health and economic justice for past and present workers in the sex industry. We work to enable sex workers to be self-determining agents, build our own alliances, and choose where and how we live and work. Our sex worker membership is the highest decision-making body of Scarlet Alliance.

Everyone involved with Scarlet Alliance is a past or current sex worker, and we take pride in our work being done by sex workers, for sex workers.

Our purposes

  • advance the health of past and present sex workers
  • promote and protect the human rights of past and present sex workers
  • promote respect for sex workers and end all forms of discrimination against sex workers
