Established in 2016 as part of Anti-Poverty Week, School Savvy is a unique Centacare FNQ initiative created to promote a more inclusive and supportive community by lessening the back-to-school expenses for Cairns and far northern families.  This community-driven program, utilising donations of new and second-hand goods, focuses on preparation for the new school year. A series of pop-up shops in central locations are stocked throughout December and January with back-to-school stationary, uniforms, and accessories to ensure students have everything they need for optimal learning and education.  School Savvy programs are now offered across Far North Queensland, Townsville, Rockhampton, Mackay, Gladstone, Toowoomba and Brisbane.
