What are we doing?

Schoolgoers is building a small school near Ghonghariya village (Bihar, India) for children from the local panchayat. It will offer high-quality education that is tailored to local needs. The facility will also serve as a community hub.

Why Bihar?

Bihar is home to 124 million residents, half of whom are aged under 25. 11% of primary school aged children in Bihar have never attended school. Of all Indian states, Bihar ranks lowest on the Human Development Index.

What progress has been made?

Land has been purchased, with construction to occur in stages. Stage one of construction (two classrooms and bathrooms) commenced in September 2020.

What will your donation fund?

We are volunteer-run and your contribution will go towards teacher salaries and the remaining stages of construction.
