The SEE in SEE-Change stands for Society, the Environment and the Economy. Our mission is to inspire, inform and support action to reduce Canberra's ecological footprint, improve the resilience of the ecosystem and enhance the wellbeing of all individuals.

Our vision at SEE-Change is to have communities creating an environmentally, socially and economically sustainable Canberra, where the current and future well-being of all is enhanced.

Why are we collecting funds?

Your ecological footprint is an estimate of the space on the planet that is needed to keep you living the way you currently live, and the average ACT resident has an ecological footprint three and a half times higher than the world average. We need to change this for the future of our community and our grandchildren!

SEE-Change activities are practical in nature and additional funds will enable us to further support and enable local community groups and individuals to do activities that benefit our community and future generations.

Current projects seeking support

Some of our current projects include:

• Parliament of Youth on Sustainability, which engages students to put forward their ideas and participate in a parliament
• Transition Streets Canberra, which supports neighbourhoods to get connected and take actions to reduce their ecological footprint
• Solar panel and electric bike bulk buys
• Maintaining a bike trailer hire service
• Regular over the back fence tours that allow people to tour a sustainable house or garden of another SEE-Change member
• Film nights
• Seminars, talks and educational workshops
• House blitz draught-proofing workshops
• and much more!

What your funds will support?

Your funds will allow us to:

• Engage more students to participate in the Parliament of Youth on Sustainability.
• Collaborate with the community, local groups, organisations, experts and policy makers to run public events that inspire, inform and support people to take action.
• Support volunteers and motivated individuals to initiate and run projects that are of interest to them and create change.
• Create a community that is having fun and supporting each other to take action to live more sustainably.
• Demonstrate and showcase alternative sustainable systems, including economic structures.
• Strengthen and promote sustainable businesses.
