Here at Seed, our role is unique within the climate movement. The reason Seed was created was in recognition that there needed to be a platform for First Nations young people when it comes to building and leading solutions to the climate crisis.
Given over half of Australia’s Indigenous population is under 25, it’s critical that we invest in the leadership of those with the most at stake to build solutions that work towards justice for all people.
We support young mob to develop the skills, confidence and networks needed to lead meaningful change in their communities. This means that the way we build power and grow our movement is to have hundreds of small groups across the country that are able to create change in their local communities and be mobilised for strategic campaigns.
Through our work, we also focus on deep community engagement and co-creating campaigns with those most affected by the impacts of climate change and the fossil fuel industry. This is to ensure we develop a shared vision, and can support these communities in ways that work for them.
Through empowering, organising and connecting First Nations young people and frontline communities, we are able to collectively contribute to a shared vision and strategy that centres First Nations self-determination and ensures our communities lead the way in shaping climate solutions.
Now is the time to stand together, fight for Country, and secure the future we deserve.

Wherever we are in this country we respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land and their elders past and present. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have lived sustainably and in harmony with the land for generations, over tens of thousands of years. We acknowledge our elders past, present and future as well as the ongoing role of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in caring for country and our people.
