After your volunteers, the Heidelberg Unit Fleet is at the heart of our operational capabilities. Without a vehicle, members would be unable to respond to the roughly 1000 requests for assistance received each year. The unit intends to supplement its current fleet with an approved Ford Everest Trend.  This additional transport vehicle will support our operational vehicle capacity through an enhanced towing capacity while also being the unit's main volunteer transport vehicle. In late 2022 the Transport role was still filled by a 2008 Nissan Patrol. Our Patrol has reached end-of-life for Fleet operations and will be replaced by an additional and larger General Rescue vehicle.  This will enhance our operational capacity but will still challenge us in terms of volunteer transport options. 

All VicSES units are provided with one State funded red-plated vehicle. All other fleet acquisitions are the responsibility of your volunteer units to purchase and equip. 

After the approved VicSES fit-out, the approved Ford Everest Trend vehicle will be priced at around $130,000 for unit purchase.
