Please help us keep our historic children's programs free and open for kids and families who need them!
The Settlement Kid's Programs run daily on week days throughout school term and school holiday periods for primary school children aged 5-12 years. Kids attending the program are primarily from the local Redfern, Waterloo and surrounding communities, but we also welcome those with community connections from further afield.
These programs provide a safe and supportive space for the kids to explore, build their skills and learning, feel a sense of belonging within their community, and be connected to experiences and opportunities that they may otherwise miss out on.
Cultural pride and diversity is integrated and celebrated within all of our programs, with 83% of kids and families identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and 28% identifying as Culturally and/or Linguistically Diverse.
These programs are also part of a larger platform of integrated programs whereby families benefit from The Settlement’s holistic approach, to access further support including food relief, mental health and emotional support and information and referrals to other specialised services.
The Settlement Kid's Programs engage up to 30 children every day and nearly 100 children throughout the year! Help us to continue providing the care and support that kids and families in our community need.
