Sharing Shakespeare

Bell Shakespeare Other Causes...

Bell Shakespeare has listed 2 other causes:

Since 1990 we have been dedicated to making Shakespeare and the classics accessible and relevant to Australians everywhere, regardless of their age, income or location.

Sharing Shakespeare sees two of our most impactful Learning programmes – Actors At Work and Student Masterclass – joining Hearts In A Row to provide a variety of free or subsidised creative learning opportunities for Australians of all ages, whether in their own classroom or at an iconic performing arts venue.

Student Masterclasses

Whether students need an introduction to Shakespeare or an in-depth exploration of a particular play, Student Masterclasses provide a unique, tailored workshop experience. In two hours, our Arts Educators will have even the most reluctant students up on their feet and investigating the play from inside out.

From $1,500 per Masterclass, you can help give students from socio-economically or geographically challenged schools a real advantage in their studies.

In-School Performances

The Players are our travelling ensemble of professional artists and educators who perform in schools across the country making Shakespeare accessible, engaging and fun with 50 minute abridged performance and post-show Q&A sessions.

It costs us up to $3,000 to deliver each performance by The Players in schools, although schools pay much less depending on their circumstances. Your support will help us offer subsidised or free performances, reaching students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience theatre.

Hearts In A Row

Our flagship community outreach programme since 2005, Hearts In A Row provides individuals from schools with socio-economic barriers and charitable groups with the opportunity to experience a talk from one of our Arts Educators followed by one of our productions. For some participants, it is their first experience of live theatre.

Donations of $10,000 or more provide up to 30 participants with a Hearts in A Row experience, and allow you to nominate a deserving school or organisation to be the recipients of this unique experience.
