Sharing Shakespeare

Bell Shakespeare Other Causes...

Bell Shakespeare has listed 1 other cause:
Since 1990 we have been dedicated to making Shakespeare and the classics accessible and relevant to Australians everywhere, regardless of their age, income or location.

Bell Shakespeare has long had requests from schools in far-flung places that would dearly love to be recipients of our Learning programmes, but simply do not have the means to take part. Although we have been able to assist some, we unfortunately haven't been able to assist them all - until now.

Last year we were delighted to launch Sharing Shakespeare - a greater outreach initiative that will provide those disadvantaged in our community with free or subsidised access to some of our most impactful Learning programmes and experiences.

Although there are set amounts related to the delivery of each programme, every gift makes a difference and will be combined to provide opportunities at all levels:

  • $100 will introduce Shakespeare to one child through an adapted 50-minute Actors At Work performance, opening their minds to some of Shakespeare's most loved characters and renowned works. $3,000 will provide this opportunity for a whole class.
  • $1,500 will deliver a richer learning experience through a two-hour interactive Student Masterclass tailored to a selected play relevant to their area of study.
  • $10,000 will give a disadvantaged school or community group the chance visit the theatre - many for the very first time - to see a Bell Shakespeare mainstage performance through Hearts In A Row.
