St David's is collecting funds for the St David's Fund for Peace, Anti-Poverty and Human Purpose.
The fund is an activity of the church promoting small and/or innovative projects in the area of:
Peace: Better inter-relationships amongst people on both domestic and international levels.
Anti-Poverty: Learning and development of people which breaks the cycle of poverty.
Human Purpose: Encouraging people to search for and find a positive, outreaching human purpose for their lives!
Key Areas of Expenditure
Anti-Poverty: The activities of the recipients of St David's ANZ Anti-Poverty Awards for Young Victorians. These include contributions to building of education facilities in rural Vietnam and building knowledge of micro-finance options for low income Australians.
Peace: Direct support and de-isolating of asylum seeker families in East Melbourne; conduct of Body, Mind and Spirit workshops to promote better parent to child relationships.
Human Purpose: Creation and support of 'Better Community Player' awards for local state high school students.
