STRUT exists for artists and for the broader community that dance can reach and move. We exist to make possible the experimentation, development, and long-term investment that keeps dance in Perth embodied, vital, and alive. STRUT holds open a space shaped by many voices rather than one vision, where artists can take risks, grow sustainable practices, and create work that connects deeply with audiences and community.
A little more dance is about recognising the small moments that can have a massive impact. It’s Forrest Place transforming into an outdoor performance space filled with movement, music, connection, and joy. It’s a weekly dance class where someone comes to let off steam and feel part of something bigger. It’s a recent WAAPA graduate creating and sharing their very first work, the beginning of what could become a lifelong artistic career.
One artist we work with said, “You don’t know what you’re capable of until you’re supported to go there.” With your support, STRUT can continue creating the conditions for dancers and dance makers to thrive in Perth and fulfil their potential.
