STRUT Dance is a choreographic centre based in Boorloo/Perth. We support independent dance artists to make work, take risks, build community and keep dancing here in Western Australia.
We are a home for dance in many forms: a place for artists testing new ideas, recent graduates finding their way into a lifelong practice, experienced makers asking what comes next, and community members discovering what movement can bring into their lives.
At STRUT, we have a wide definition of dance. It is a way to connect to your body. A way to express what words cannot. A way to meet people from different backgrounds and work together. A way to bring more joy, sweat, health, and hunger into the city.
This is what we mean by A Little More Dance.
A little more dance can mean a free place in a workshop for an artist who could not otherwise attend. It can mean keeping class affordable for both beginners and professional dancers. It can mean a recent graduate receiving their first seed fund to make a new work. It can mean giving an artist time in the studio to experiment, take risks, and find out what they are capable of.
Support STRUT this AusArt Day.
Help us bring a little more dance to WA.
