Surf Life Saving NSW is the state's major water safety and rescue organisation, and with over 75,000 members is one of the largest volunteer movements in the state. The primary role of Surf Life Saving NSW is the commitment to saving lives on our beaches, while other activities include member development, surf sports and education. There are 129 surf clubs in the state which are affiliated with Surf Life Saving NSW. The northern most club is Fingal Rovers near Tweed Heads, while the club furthest south is at Pambula.
