Innovation
Innovation may be as simple as a device that assists in activating light switches, elevating household appliances or turning on a tap.  More advanced technologies include modified computers or remote control systems for air conditioners, windows or doors.

Our volunteers typically use their skills in metalwork, woodwork, plastics, electronics, fabrics and bicycle mechanics to build or modify equipment.

Independence
Having the right equipment can help people be more independent and stay connected with their family, friends and the community.  It may assist them to stay in their home longer or pursue work opportunities.


Who are TADSA?
Technology for Ageing and Disability SA Inc. (TADSA) is a state-wide not-for-profit, voluntary organisation that has one major objective - to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities, and the aged, by creating, modifying or repairing devices where there is no other solution readily available.

In short, TADSA exists to apply innovative solutions so the lives of people with disabilities and the aged may be significantly improved.

Through the Freedom Wheels program, TADSA also provides modified bicycles for children who, through disability, are unable to ride a regular bike.

To achieve these objectives 50 TADSA volunteers, with a wide range of technical skills, design and construct customised equipment for clients.

Work is co-ordinated by our volunteer Project and Freedom Wheels Co-ordinators.
